Depression: Online Tools

If you’re interested in keeping track of your mood, here are a few options. All of them are free. Don’t use any of these to determine a diagnosis but just to keep track of how your mood is changing.

http://psychcentral.com/depquiz.htm – The simplest one I’ve seen online. No sign up required but you’ll have to write down your results somewhere. It gives you an idea of how your responses compare to others who have taken it online. It’s a very rough screening instrument for depression.

http://iratemyday.com/ – Very simple 5 level scale with matching faces and a map of ratings across the world. This requires creating an account. Probably the least useful but most fun.

http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/mood-tracker/ – A little more involved but may be worth it. You need to create an account and then it keeps track of your results over time.  You get a nice graph of your ups and downs.
